Here are the latest pictures of Boston and his accident last week. It happened last Wednesday at about 4:30. It was the one good day we had that week. He was having so much fun on his bike with his friends. He just turned to sharp or something and went straight over the handlebars. It was a complete face-plant. I watched the entire thing happen. I can still see the exact events happen every time I look at his poor little mouth. He lost his left top front tooth. Thank goodness the entire thing came out. We saw the dentist that day and things looked pretty good. He had a large cut on the inside of his lip that could have used a stitch, but the dentist decided it would be more traumatic to put the stitch in then to let it heal itself. (It had already started to scab - 30 minutes later). He goes in this week to check up, but thought things would be fine. He was so excited at the thought of having the tooth-fairy come. He was very concerned about the tooth-fairy taking his tooth, so with the help of mom we wrote her a note asking her to "Please leave the tooth." He got 4 quarters for the tooth. I haven't seen him so excited to show off something to his friends. He still shows everyone his toothless grin and when he gets the chance, the tooth. I am just glad it is a baby tooth and shouldn't require any major dental work. I know that this is just the start of things to come!! What can you do?
This is the car ride home from the Dentist. I wanted to get pictures at the dentist, but he wouldn't let me put him down. I didn't blame him!! He did get to watch cartoons at the dentist.
This is him that same night. He was all smiles!! He wanted to help take out the neighbors dog, go on a walk and ride his scooter. Thank goodness he wasn't ready to ride the bike. I am not sure I would have been able to handle that!! I am still not sure I am ready for that, but I know that he will get back on and be fine!! I don't want him to be afraid of getting back on!! I know all too well, what it is like to still be afraid of something as adult that happened in your childhood! I don't want that for Boston, especially something like riding a bike!!!
The swelling has come down and he looks pretty much normal again until he smiles which reveals the toothless grin!! He is so cute!!
